February 16, 2008 01:02:52Talking about his new character in the drama film "Strength and Honour", the star of "The Reservoir Dogs" Michael Madsen revealed that he was forced to beg for the role because he didn't want to be knocked out by Hollywood actors, Orlando Bloom and Christian Bale.
According to press release, the 49-year-old actor originally joined the cast as the knocked out bare-knuckle fighter at the end of the film. However, when he knew that the people behind the film considering Bloom and Bale to be the lead, he refused the role and asked for the center character.
The Batman Star Plays Against Captain Sparrow in 'Public Enemies'?
January 11, 2008 02:01:38The new face of Batman in "Batman Begins" and "The Dark Knight", Christian Bale, is said to be in talk to star in Michael Mann's "Public Enemies". According to Variety, the actor in "3:10 to Yuma" will play as Melvin Purvis, the legendary FBI agent who led the manhunt for John Dillinger.
If everything goes according to plans, Bale will star opposite the "Sweeney Todd" star, Johnny Depp, who depicted the bad guy Dillinger. Though his involvement hasn't been confirmed yet, it is more likely that the 33-year-old English actor will get the part as the job is not expected to clash with Bale's commitment in "Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins".

December 19, 2007 10:12:33American critics groups appear to mostly put "No Country for Old Men" in their top list of film choices as the crime drama thriller took another best picture honor from San Diego Film Critics Society, which revealed on Tuesday, December 18, 2007 the winners of its 12th annual SDFCS Awards.
Apart from the top prize, the movie also scored in three other categories of Best Ensemble Performance, Best Supporting Actor for Tommy Lee Jones, and Best Cinematography for Roger Deakins. Pic, however, only managed to bring its makers, brothers Joel and Ethan Coen, the runner-up title in Best Director and Adapted Screenplay slots for both went to Paul Thomas Anderson of "There Will Be Blood."
Confirmed: Christian Bale Up for Terminator 4's John Connor!

The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed that the Batman actor is currently in negotiations to play John Connor, the leader of the human resistance against Skynet.
Should Bale lands the deal, he will portray Connor in his thirties, who is organizing the surviving humans to fight against Skynet's army of robots. The character previously was played by Edward Furlong in "Terminator 2: Judgment Day" and Nick Stahl in "Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines."

Ain't It Cool News claims to have heard from its trusted source that the Batman actor will play John Connor in the project, a role previously portrayed by Nick Stahl in "Terminator 3: Rise of The Machines." If this rings true, Bale's casting could only mean that pic will be starting a long time after "Machines" judging from the age difference between the thespian and Stahl.

Another glowing talent is in the brink to join in "3:10 to Yuma." As The Hollywood Reporter has learned, Christian Bale is in final talks to act in the picture opposite Oscar-winning actor Russell Crowe who has already been billed to play the lead character of Ben Wade.
A remake of the 1957 flick, pic sees Wade, a captured outlaw, finding himself in the custody of small-time rancher Dan Evans who secretly tries to take him to a railway station to catch a train to Yuma for his court date. James Mangold is tapped to direct while Stuart Beattie, Michael Brandt, and Derek Haas join forces to build up the script.

At last the details of "Batman Begins" sequel have been unveiled. Warner Bros. Pictures' President of Production Jeff Robinov has just made an announcement on Monday, August 1 concerning the project. Titled "The Dark Knight", this second installment of the superhero will still be under the direction of Christopher Nolan with Christian Bale reprising his role as Bruce Wayne/Batman.
Apart from Bale, Heath Ledger has also been confirmed to be in the cast as The Joker. Jonathan Nolan will pen the scripts based on a story by Christopher Nolan and David Goyer while Emma Thomas also Charles Roven seat as the film's producers. Filming production is planned to begin by early 2007 to meet a 2008 release.

The 2006 MTV Movie Awards show, held on Saturday June 3rd on a soundstage at Sony Studios, celebrated the big winning of last summer's "Wedding Crashers" which at that time collected three trophies all at once, including the coveted Golden Popcorn for Best Movie.
In addition to that, the flick also brought winning to Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson who both shared the Best On-Screen Team honor, and that for Isla Fisher who won the Breakthrough Performance award. Just behind "Wedding Crashers" there came "Brokeback Mountain" which brought Jake Gyllenhaal to double winning mainly for Best Performance category and Best Kiss which he shared with Heath Ledger.

Jake Gyllenhaal to Join Batman Sequel?

It tells the true story of German-born Dieter Dengler, who dreamed of being a pilot and eventually made his way to the United States, where he joined the military during the Vietnam War era. He was shot down over Vietnam and captured. Eventually he organized an escape with a small band of captives. While Bale will play Dengler, Zahn will play an ill-looking and bent POW.
