The 'U Don't Have to Call' hitmaker halts his Houston concert to give a shout-out to the 'Nite and Day' singer, who has spoken up against Usher's former mentor Sean 'P. Diddy' Combs.

AceShowbiz - Usher has given Al B. Sure! his flowers. The "You Make Me Wanna..." singer has taken a moment to publicly honor the R&B singer/record producer during the former's recent concert in Houston, Texas.

In a video circulating online on Thursday, November 28, Usher spotted Al B. Sure! and Nia Long among the audience at the show. He then approached the Boston-born musician to thank him for the pivotal role he played in the beginning of Usher's career.

"Aye, man, y'all don't really understand," Usher began saying of Al B Sure! with his hand on the 56-year-old songwriter's shoulder. "This is A-1 for real right here. My first album, 'Usher', this man showed me the ropes. He wrote songs for me, was patient with me."

He went on recalling, "Long nights in the studio, I was going through vocal changes and all kind of s**t. We made some incredible moments together. But more than anything, you're a big brother to me, and I just want to say thank you, bro. I love you more."

Usher's show of love for Al B. Sure! has received a lot of positive feedback, with many saying that it's long overdue. "Finally somebody showing him love lol," someone wrote underneath The Shade Room's Instagram post that included the clip. Another agreed as writing, "Al B is an icon! Glad Usher showed him love."

"Al is definitely an R&B legend. Can't have a conversation about 90's R&B song writing without him. This made me smile," a third weighed in. A fourth user added, "This is so sweet of Usher. It's so important that the ones who came before us feel their impact."

While Usher and Al B. Sure! have made history together, their friendship has been made complicated due to their respective connections to Sean "P. Diddy" Combs. While the embattled hip-hop mogul is often regarded as Usher's mentor and played a big role in the "U Got It Bad" crooner's successful career, Al B. Sure! has spoken up against Diddy.

In March, amid Diddy's mounting legal issues, the "Nite and Day" hitmaker reignited allegation that Diddy played a role in his 2022 coma. "We're going to be producing the Al B. Sure! life story,"he said in a video shared by TMZ. "So hold on to your britches, and you'll really understand how I ended up in a coma. You're really gonna need to call Homeland Security."

Al B. Sure! has also suggested that Diddy was allegedly behind his ex Kim Porter's untimely death in 2018, although autopsy reports confirmed that she died of lobar pneumonia.
