AceShowbiz - Tamar Braxton has reacted to Kamala Harris' defeat to Donald Trump in the 2024 U.S. presidential election. The singer took to social media on Wednesday, November 6 to express her frustration over the election results.
The 47-year-old uploaded to her Instagram feed a video of her filming herself in a car. "Good morning," she greeted her followers, before launching a rant at people who voted for Trump. "I'm physically sick to my stomach, like most of y'all," she said.
"I just had a song that jumped to my spirit. It go like this, 'America is a liar,' " she continued, before singing an impromptu song. "I don't trust...," she added, before yelling, "Oh my, God. I don't trust none of y'all. Y'all lie, lie, lie...."
The former "Braxton Family Values" star admitted, "I cried myself to sleep last night. I feel so unaccomplished as a black woman. I feel so unappreciated." She added, "I'm so mad. I feel like it's a set-up," before lashing out, "We have been here before. It's like going back to the abusive ex. What the f**k you think." In the caption, she simply wrote, "Lie,lie, lie."
Also being dejected by Harris' loss, Christina Applegate posted an anti-Trump rant on X, formerly known as Twitter. "Please unfollow me if you voted against female rights. Against disability rights. Yeah that. Unfollow me because what you did is unreal. Don't want followers like this. So yeah. Done. Also after today I will be shutting down this fan account that I have had for so many years because this is sick," she wrote on Tuesday night.
"Why? Give me your reasons why?????" she asked in bewilderment "My child is sobbing because her rights as a woman may be taken away. Why? And if you disagree, please unfollow me."
The actress later regretted her previous tweets. On Wednesday, she posted again on the Elon Musk-owned platform, "I apologize. I'm still reeling and sobbing. But I'm not angry anymore. Just going to go back to my bubble and watch a s**t ton of Bravo shows. So peace to all. I suggest you do the same. Very soothing."
Braxton and Applegate are not the only celebrities enraged and disappointed by the election results. Selena Gomez, Billie Eilish and many others have taken to social media to express their dismay at Trump's win.
