The golden milestone of the American Music Awards is upon us, and the 50th Anniversary Special promises to be an unforgettable showcase of music legends and contemporary stars.

AceShowbiz - The 50th Anniversary Special of the American Music Awards (AMAs) is set to light up screens on Sunday, October 6, with a dazzling array of performances and appearances. The event will air live coast-to-coast from 8-10 P.M. ET/5-7 P.M. PT on CBS and will also be available for streaming on Paramount+.
Artists across genres will honor the rich history of the AMAs and its evolution over the decades. Nelly, known for chart-toppers like "Hot in Herre" and "Dilemma", will celebrate hip-hop’s greatest moments by performing his greatest hits along with Chingy, J-Kwon and members of the St. Lunatics. The legendary Nile Rodgers & CHIC will perform "Le Freak", along with Rodgers' Grammy-winning collaboration "Get Lucky".
The special also promises tributes to iconic artists. Jennifer Hudson is set to honor Whitney Houston, performing in memory of the 22-time AMA winner. Brad Paisley will pay tribute to Charley Pride, recalling the legacy of the late country star. Another anticipated moment includes Gladys Knight, a seven-time AMA winner, performing "Midnight Train to Georgia", a throwback to her memorable 1974 AMA performance.
Mariah Carey, celebrating the 20th anniversary of "The Emancipation of Mimi", will perform a medley of hits from the album. K-pop sensation Stray Kids will honor the legacy of boy bands, while Raye will tackle James Brown's classic "It's a Man's Man's Man's World" after a retrospective on past American Music Award of Merit winners.
The star-studded lineup continues with performances from Chaka Khan, who will celebrate female achievements in music with "I'm Every Woman", and Green Day, who will excite fans with their recent hit "Dilemma". Kane Brown will also perform a medley celebrating country music's legacy.
The event will feature appearances by industry giants like Carrie Underwood, Jennifer Lopez, Gloria Estefan and past AMAs host Jimmy Kimmel. With such a diverse and talented lineup, the AMAs 50th Anniversary Special is shaping up to be a night to remember for music fans of all ages.
