AceShowbiz - Alex Rodriguez seemed to be weighing in on Jennifer Lopez's split from Ben Affleck. After news broke that the "On the Floor" hitmaker filed for divorce from her actor husband, the MLB legend took to social media to share a cryptic quote.

The 49-year-old sent the message via Instagram on Tuesday, August 20, the same day after J.Lo submitted the divorce papers. "You either go one way or the other, you might as well be the one deciding the direction," read the post.

J.Lo wanted to make her split from Ben legal because she was "done waiting" for the "[m-Gone Girl]" star to show commitment to their marriage. "She tried really hard to make things work and is heartbroken," a source revealed to PEOPLE. "The kids are a top priority, as they always have been."

J.Lo, who shares 16-year-old twins Emme and Max with her ex-husband Marc Anthony, listed their date of separation as April 26, 2024. Ben himself has three children from his previous marriage to Jennifer Garner, Violet, 18, Seraphina, 15, and Samuel, 12.

J.Lo rekindled her romance with Ben after she and Alex called off their engagement in April 2021. "We have realized we are better as friends and look forward to remaining so," J.Lo and A-Rod stated at the time.

"We will continue to work together and support each other on our shared businesses and projects. We wish the best for each other and one another's children," the exes continued. "Out of respect for them, the only other comment we have is to say is thank you to everyone who has sent kind words and support."

As for J.Lo and Ben, they tied the knot in an intimate Las Vegas chapel ceremony in July 2022. The two later followed it up with a star-studded Georgia celebration.
