AceShowbiz - Benny Blanco may have put a ring on it. Rumor has it that Selena Gomez has gotten engaged to her boyfriend of one year after the songwriter/record producer popped the question to the actress/singer over the weekend.

First reporting the news was celebrity blogger DeuxMoi through their Instagram account. The proposal reportedly took place at a beach house the couple usually hangs out with their friends, who were allegedly also present when Benny asked for her hand in marriage.

On their Story, the celebrity blogger shared a blind item from an anonymous source that read, "This a list actress/semi retired singer got engaged over the weekend to her bf of a year recently surrounded by friends at their usual beach house hang out."

The blind item did not mention Selena and Benny by their names, but the clues were all there. The lovebirds have been dating since 2023 before Selena confirmed their relationship at the end of last year. In January, the 32-year-old stated that she prefers acting over music, and only has "one more album in [her]". The couple has also been spotted several times hanging out with friends at a beach house in Malibu, California, including during her recent 32nd birthday celebration on July 22.

After Pop Faction picked up the news and reposted it on its own Instagram account, many expressed their joy at Selena's supposed engagement. "Even if it's true I hope she doesn't say anything and she just protects her peace. She shouldn't be forced to confirm this and should just enjoy this beautiful moment," a fan reacted in the comments section.

Another weighed in, "She's happy with him and that's what matters she's happy with him and that's what matters." A third fan commented, "This is the happiest she's ever been! She deserves it!"

Surprised, a fourth person wrote, "Selena getting married is something I wasn't expecting but I am happy for her." Someone else added, "I really hope it's true she seems so happy in this relationship."

Earlier this year, Benny talked about his desire to start a family with his girlfriend Selena. When questioned specifically about having children with the singer on "The Howard Stern Show" in May, Benny revealed, "It's always a topic of conversation to me every day." The producer also disclosed that he frequently gazes at the actress and tells her, "I don't know a world where it could be better than this."

Reacting to her boyfriend's comments about his family plans with her, the "Same Old Love" singer told TIME, "He can't lie to save his life. If he's asked a question, he'll answer it."
