AceShowbiz - Goldie Hawn, known for her iconic roles in Hollywood, has revealed that she and her long-time partner, Kurt Russell, experienced two heart-stopping home invasions within a short span of just four months. The 78-year-old actress opened up about these terrifying incidents during a recent episode of Kelly Ripa's "Let's Talk Off Camera" podcast.
Hawn and Russell were out for a dinner date when the first invasion took place. "They had broken in from the balcony to our bedroom, our closets," the actress detailed. The intruders didn't just stop at break-in; they managed to get past a secure door and made away with many of Hawn's valuables. "They completely knocked down my door, which is a safe door, so they're very, very sophisticated," she noted.
The trauma was compounded when another attempt at a break-in occurred mere months later while Hawn was home alone. Describing the incident, she recalled hearing a "big thump" upstairs. She initially dismissed it, thinking it was a sonic boom, but later discovered it was another invasion attempt targeting her bedroom. "I couldn't believe it," she said. "What is happening here?"
These harrowing experiences have understandably led Hawn to take her safety seriously. "I'm never without a guard, especially when I'm alone," she explained. Emphasizing the benefit of increased security, she added, "We have a nice relationship with our guard, and you feel good. You feel good."
Hawn and Russell have since moved to Palm Desert, seeking a reprieve from the high crime rates in Los Angeles. The star of "Cactus Flower" mentioned how their new environment has brought them a sense of peace and safety, although they still maintain properties in Aspen, Colorado.
