In a new interview with Conan O'Brien, Kate Hudson's famous mom talks about maintaining her relationship while she and her partner have different political views.

AceShowbiz - Despite having differing political views, Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell remain deeply in love and committed to their relationship of nearly four decades. In a recent interview on SiriusXM's "Conan O'Brien Needs a Friend," Hawn explained what she believes has kept them bonded: their family.
"We don't agree on everything," she said of their different political views. "His politics are different than mine. You know, there's all these things that could divide you."
"The one thing that we have, the greatest thing in God's world, is our family," Hawn said. "That is where we thrive and where we have incredible amounts of joy and really focus on that."
Hawn has four children: Kate Hudson and Oliver Hudson from her previous marriage to Bill Hudson, and Wyatt Russell and Boston Russell from her relationship with Kurt Russell. Russell has always been a devoted stepfather to her children, a quality that initially drew Hawn to him.
"He is a family man," Hawn said. "I can't explain it, but he was the one for me. It wasn't just because he was sexy and handsome. It was because he matched my devotion to children to be number one."
Hawn's attraction to Russell was not just physical but also emotional. "The seduction was really his personality and his focus on the children," she added.
Despite their occasional disagreements on political or other issues, Hawn believes that their shared values and their focus on family are the "sticking glue" that keeps their relationship strong. "Relationships are hard," she said in a previous interview. "They're not always easy. But the one thing that we have is our family. And that's what we focus on."
