AceShowbiz - 2 Chainz has some choice words for DJ Akademiks after he made some comments on Reginae Carter. The controversial DJ was called out after he made disparaging comments on Lil Wayne's daughter in a rant on his podcast.
During the episode, the YouTuber called Reginae a "b***h" as he discussed her relationship history, including being linked to YFN Lucci. "Reginae loved hood n***gas, she love YFN Lucci, that was her n***a. Everything was all good with them until she realized n***a caught a RICO, she seen that murder charge on it, I've never seen a chick quickly, Reginae is seeing someone name Armon, I don't even know who that n****a is, She even downgraded like… she don't even like thugs anymore," he said in a clip.
"She got with a n***a who look more feminine than her…she got with a n****a who is like the opposite of gangster, who she can do guessing games," he continued, "You know these b***es- let me not call her a b***h. These chicks love a hood n***a until he's facing 25 to life," he said.
In response to that, some hip-hop stars put Akademiks on blast and 2 Chainz was among the critics. "Now @akademiks you kno. You can't be running off reckless about ours… it's distasteful and we all have kids growing up in hip hop," Chainz wrote on Instagram Story. "I didn't see what ya said but I heard you said 'B***h.' Hey man you should apologize ASAP. skr8 up, not sure if you have kids but that's something we don't play wit."
Prior to this, T.I. also slammed Akademiks for the remarks. "I would love to have a word with Akademiks," the Atlanta icon said. "I gotta put a call out to him and hopefully, we can communicate our way to a positive resolution. But Reginae under the umbrella, covered, that's our business." Reginae's mother and businesswoman, Toya Wright Johnson, also took a jab at AK as saying, "Keep my daughter name out your mouth. Clout chasing is at an all time high. Let her live her 23 yr old life."
Following the backlash, Akademiks, who recently ruffled feathers after calling old rappers "dusty," did show a regret. During his appearance on "The Breakfast Club", AK apologized for calling her the "B" word. The DJ, however, noted that he wasn't sorry for using the word as a whole because rappers are constantly using it.
