AceShowbiz - Jennifer Lopez is ready to walk down the aisle with Ben Affleck. The "Marry Me" actress has confirmed that she has gotten engaged to the "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" star with a sweet emotional clip.
On Friday, April 8, the 52-year-old actress/singer announced the engagement news in a short video via her fan newsletter, On the JLo. In the sweet clip, she can be seen staring tearfully and adoringly at a gorgeous green-hued diamond ring. "You're perfect," she says in a voiceover as romantic music plays in the background.
Prior to sharing the long-awaited announcement, J.Lo teased on her social media platforms that she has a "major announcement" to be shared. "So I have a really exciting and special story to share," the "On the Floor" hitmaker said with a sweet laugh in the clip.
A few days earlier, J.Lo sparked engagement rumors as she was photographed wearing the massive sparkling band on that finger while furniture shopping with her 14-year-old daughter Emme in Culver City. The interesting part was when "The Boy Next Door" actress noticed the paparazzi while walking out of the store, she quickly turned the ring to hide it.
J.Lo and Ben first started dating in 2002 after they met on the set of "Gigli". They later got engaged and were set to get married in September 2003. At the time, Ben presented the "Hustlers" star with a 6.1-carat pink diamond by Harry Winston that reportedly cost $2.5 million.
However, they postponed their wedding due to "excessive media attention." The couple explained at the time, "When we found ourselves seriously contemplating hiring three separate 'decoy brides' at three different locations, we realized that something was awry." They eventually called it quits in 2004.
The couple rekindled their romance following J.Lo and Alex Rodriguez's broken engagement in 2021. Then in July that year, the "Love Don't Cost a Thing" songstress made her relationship with Ben Instagram official. At the time, she posted a photo of her passionately kissing the 49-year-old actor and director as they celebrated her 52nd birthday.
Then in August last year, Ben was caught browsing engagement rings at the Century City, California Tiffany's. At the time, the "Gone Girl" actor was accompanied by his mom Sam and his 10-year-old son Samuel.
