The Jazz musician picks up a total of 11 mentions for the upcoming 64th annual Grammy Awards, becoming artist with the most nods for next year's Biggest Night in Music.

AceShowbiz - Jon Batiste, Justin Bieber, Doja Cat, and H.E.R. lead the nominees for the 64th Grammy Awards.

Jazz musician and composer Batiste, who has yet to win a Grammy, picked up the most nods, with 11, as the nominations were announced on Tuesday (23Nov21) from the Grammy Museum in Los Angeles and virtually by BTS, Billie Eilish, her brother Finneas, Carly Pearce, H.E.R., Batiste, Tayla Parx, Eurovision winners Maneskin, and Recording Academy CEO Harvey Mason, Jr.

He will compete with eight-time nominees Bieber, Doja Cat, and H.E.R., as well as Eilish and Olivia Rodrigo, who picked up seven mentions each in multiple categories, including Record of the Year and Album of the Year.

Batiste's haul is one less than Grammy nominations record holders Michael Jackson and Babyface, and he ties with Kendrick Lamar, who scored 11 nods back in 2016.

Another headline from the nominations announcement is The Weeknd's three nods. He was snubbed by the Grammys in 2020 and swore he would boycott the awards show and refuse to submit his music for consideration. His mentions come from his collaborations with Kanye West and Doja Cat.

And, with three nods this year, Jay-Z becomes the most nominated Grammy artist, breaking a tie with Quincy Jones and Paul McCartney, who also picked up multiple mentions on Tuesday.

There were a few controversial mentions as well, with disgraced comedian Louis C.K., Marilyn Manson, Dave Chappelle, and DaBaby each picking up nominations.

Final voting for the 2022 Grammy Awards will take place between 6 December and 5 January (22), with the ceremony scheduled for 31 January.
