The Young Money rapper says that he was asked by the Canadian superstar's management to take drug charges for the singer to protect his squeaky clean images in the early 2010s.

AceShowbiz - Lil Twist's friendship with Justin Bieber has cost him his career, according to the rapper. Appearing on Philadelphia radio personality Mina SayWhat's podcast "Mina's House" on Wednesday, June 10, the Lil Wayne-associated artist revealed that he once took drug charges for the Canadian pop star.

The 27-year-old, who struck a close friendship with the 26-year-old singer in the early 2010s, claimed that he became a scapegoat for the former YouTube sensation per the latter's agency's request to protect his squeaky clean image.

"If they would have put weed charges on Justin in his early career. It would have been bad on him. So I got a call one day saying, 'Twist, do you really love this kid?' I said, 'Yes,' " he recalled on the podcast. "They said, 'Cool, if you love him then you can take the heat for him because you can come off a little weed charge. You're associated with Lil Wayne. You're a rapper.' "

Twist said that it wasn't limited to just one incident. "It got to a point where I didn't even have to be there at times and they were putting it, 'Twist did it, Twist did it, Twist did it,' " he added. "It became overwhelming."

The Dallas star, whose real name is Christopher Lynn Moore, didn't specify which incidents that he took cover of Justin, but he was arrested twice in 2013 while driving the "Yummy" hitmaker's car. In the same year, it was also reported that Twist threw a marijuana-filled party at the mansion of Hailey Baldwin's husband while the singer was allegedly in Europe.

When asked if he thought his friendship with Justin did harm to his career, he acknowledged, "Definitely." He continued, "It was a gift and a curse. That's what they also know. They know that I benefited from it as far as now I'm a household name on different continents but for good and wrong reasons."

"And they made the wrong reasons way heavier than the good reasons. What the world don't know is, the writer that Justin Bieber's working with now, Pooh Bear, I brought him. I found Pooh Bear and I brought him over there," he went on explaining.

Of his current relationship with Justin, Twist said they're still talking. "Me and Justin, he still calls me now," he shared. "It's like he's gotta hide to reach out to me. He hits me in DMs ... I didn't do nothing wrong. Yeah we smoked weed, we both did. Yeah we did such and such, we both did."

Twist later addressed his claims in a statement released on Thursday, in which he stated, "While promoting my TV show, the subject of certain events with Bieber were brought up, and in the spirit of being authentic, I felt it a disservice to my fans and the general public to not be completely transparent about my experience. I believe that if you truly support the Black Lives Matter movement, Black people, and Black culture, your actions have to reflect that."

Meanwhile, a source familiar with the situation tells Page Six that Twist's claims were all lies. In contrary to the rapper's story, the source says that while "Justin and Twist don't have a relationship anymore, Justin wishes Twist well and finds these comments unfortunate and completely untrue."
