AceShowbiz - Megan Fox realized she was a better mum and person when she's not around her husband during a trip to South Korea.

The actress came home after filming "The Battle of Jangsari" last year (19) and told Brian Austin Green she needed more time alone.

He spoke out about what sparked the couple's break-up during his latest podcast, revealing the "Transformers" star told him she was happier alone.

"She said, 'You know, I realized while I was out of the country working alone that I feel more like myself, and I liked myself better during that experience, and I think that may be something worth trying for me,' " Brian said.

"I was shocked and I was upset about it, but I can't be upset at her, and I wasn't upset at her because she didn't ask to feel that way. It wasn't a choice she made; that's the way she honestly felt."

Last week on his podcast, Brian confirmed the couple had split, while addressing rumors suggesting the actress had moved on with rapper and rocker Machine Gun Kelly after meeting him on the set of her new film "Midnight in the Switchgrass". Megan also plays Kelly's dangerously sexy lover in his new video for "Bloody Valentine".

"I've never met him...," the former "Beverly Hills, 90210" star said. "Megan and I have talked about him. They’re just friends at this point... I don’t want people to think her or he are villains or that I was a victim in any way."

Green also made it clear he doesn't want to make an enemy of Fox, stating, "She has been my best friend for 15 years and I don't want to lose that."

Brian and Megan wed in June 2010 after dating on-and-off for over six years. The actors are parents to sons Noah, seven, Bodhi, six, and three-year-old Journey, while Green also shares an 18-year-old son, named Kassius, with his ex-fiancee Vanessa Marcil.

Fox and Green previously split in 2015 and she filed for divorce, but they reconciled months later as Megan revealed she was expecting her third child with Brian.
