The daughter of later singer and actor David Cassidy has filed documents in L.A. Superior Court to divorce Matthew Rodgers, whom she married in December 2018.

AceShowbiz - Katie Cassidy has called it quits with her husband. On Wednesday, January 8, the "Arrow" star reportedly filed divorce papers in Los Angeles Superior Court to put an end to her marriage to Matthew Rodgers a year after their wedding.
The court documents unraveled that the actress portraying Black Canary on The CW's series cited "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for the split. She also requested "dissolution without minor children." However, she has yet to list the date of separation, noting only "TBD."
The daughter of David Cassidy and Sherry Williams tied the knot with Matthew in Sunset Key, Florida in December 2018. Sharing a picture from the ceremony, she gushed at the time, "I can't help falling in love with you... YES! It's official! #MrsRodgers I love you my husband." After her divorce filing, PEOPLE reported that the actress listed her wedding date as December 28, 2017.
After news broke out that she is divorcing her husband, the 33-year-old turned to Instagram to share some encouraging words. The post she uploaded on Wednesday night simply read, "You're going to be happy, said life. But first, I'll make you strong."
Katie's separation from Matthew came just a few months after she expressed her gratitude for her husband. When celebrating Thanksgiving back in November, she posted a happy picture of them with a caption that read, "Grateful to have this one by my side." She added, "Thank you for being you."
Months earlier, the former "Supernatural" actress has also showered her husband with praises. Sharing a photo of them from their vacation in the Maldives, she wrote on Instagram, "To my darling #MatthewRodgers Thank you for being my rock, the most amazing man I've ever met & best friend. We go all the way 100% Guaranteed! Go BIG or GO home! I [love] you now & forever. I can't wait for what our future holds!"
Prior to Matthew, Katie was known for her relationship with singer/actor Jesse McCartney, hockey player Jarret Stoll, and actor Jerry Ferrara.
