After the songstress' latest effort 'Lover' is named Favorite Album - Pop/Rock, Billie Eilish is invited to the stage once again to receive her second award, New Artist of the Year.

AceShowbiz - Taylor Swift was so emotional when she was announced as one of the winners at the 2019 American Music Awards on Sunday, November 24. During the annual show held at Los Angeles' Microsoft Theater, the country-turned-pop superstar nabbed Favorite Album Pop/Rock Award for her chart-topping effort "Lover".

Accepting the trophy from Heidi Klum and Dan Levy, Taylor was trying to hold back her tears after she beat out Ariana Grande's "Thank U, Next" and Billie Eilish's "When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?". She said, choking back, "Like, that was a really tough category," before thanking her fans for making her the winner of the category. "This album felt like a new beginning," Taylor continued. "And I really love my record label Universal Republic. ...Thank you for being so generous to me and allowing me to make whatever music I want to make."

Following a string of performances from the likes of Kesha (previously known as Ke$ha) and Toni Braxton, Carrie Underwood took the stage to accept her Favorite Album - Country Award for her latest effort "Cry Pretty". But it appeared she didn't accept only one award because Cobie Smulders later surprised the blonde beauty by telling her that she also won favorite female country artist, something that Carrie dubbed "a good surprise."

Next up, "Knives Out" stars Katherine Langford and Jamie Lee Curtis announced the winner of Collaboration of the Year category that was nabbed by Camila Cabello and Shawn Mendes for their mega hit "Senorita", defeating the likes of Lil Nas X and Billy Ray Cyrus' "Old Town Road" and Lady GaGa and Bradley Cooper's "Shallow". Meanwhile, Billie Eilish later was invited to the stage once again as she won her second award of the night, New Artist of the Year.

The 2019 American Music Awards is being broadcast live on ABC. Ciara is taking the hosting duty this year.
