AceShowbiz - Niall Horan has addressed his relationship with Selena Gomez amid dating rumors linking the two stars. Appearing on "The Social", the Irish singer called the former Disney darling "a really good friend" when asked about his first impression of her.
"First time I seen was, she was on 'Barney'," Niall said, referring to Selena's early days on the children's program, which was met with laughter from the audience. He went on gushing about the actress/singer, "She looked cute and she's an absolute sweetheart, too. And she's a really good friend right now."
Niall gave a similar deliberate answer when asked about the dating rumors on Sirius FM. "We're friends. We have the same group of friends. We hang out all the time. The one photo that was ever taken got posted. We're good friends," he said.
As for whether they will work on new music together, he said there's no plans on "collaborations as of yet" either. "I know she's been doing some music too. We were just out for dinner," he explained.
Meanwhile, while talking with ET Canada's Roz Weston in Toronto, Niall joked about fans' fixation on their potential hook-up and collaboration. He said, "People are fickle. Aren't they? They don't know whether they want us to date or go on a song together." He added, "I mean that would be great. She's obviously a talented girl," before stressing, "And she's a really good friend of mine."
Selena and Niall first sparked dating rumors after they were pictured hanging out together with their mutual friends for a group dinner on October 3. The 27-year-old beauty fueled the speculations as she took to her Instagram Stories to help promote Niall's new song "Nice to Meet Ya". "This came out like 5 mins ago," she wrote in the post, "and I'm pretty sure you need to download."
A few days later, the "Wolves" hitmaker was pictured visiting the One Direction member at his house in Los Angeles. Niall then took to his own account to give Selena a shout-out. He shared on Instagram Stories a picture of him posing in front of a large Selena poster. "Hello there Sel," he captioned it.
