Having been friends with the CNN anchor for years, the 'Watch What Happens Live' host reveals that he brought four-month-old Ben to the 52-year-old after he lost his mother Gloria Vanderbilt.

AceShowbiz - Andy Cohen's four-month-old son is proving a great distraction for TV anchor Anderson Cooper following his beloved mother's passing.

Actress, author, and fashion designer Gloria Vanderbilt died earlier this month at the age of 95 following a long battle with advanced stomach cancer. And while Anderson had previously lamented his "loneliness" following the tragic loss, fellow presenter Andy Cohen told New York Post's gossip column Page Six his tot, Ben, has been keeping the 52-year-old company.

"I brought Ben over to Anderson's last weekend. I was like you need to be with a baby right now because he was obviously very in a rough spot," the "Watch What Happens Live" host, 51, explained. "And I think sometimes - I just thought - it would be good for him to see kind of new life and that might energise him a little bit. And I think it did."

Anderson and Andy have been pals for years, and since 2017 the pair have been working together to co-host CNN's annual New Year's Eve special.

Andy welcomed baby Ben into the world in February via surrogacy, and is raising the infant alone as a single father. Opening up about the experience to People magazine earlier this year, he confessed being a single parent has changed his outlook on life.

"I didn't want to wait. To me it would have to be a very special person to say, 'Let's do this together'," he reflected, adding that he's settled down and is "looking for different types of guys" to date, with fatherhood his number one priority.
