AceShowbiz - Princess Beatrice finally made it official with her new boyfriend Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi. The elder daughter of Princes Andrew and Sarah Ferguson and the property developer walked the red carpet for the first time as a couple at the 2019 Portrait Gala at the National Portrait Gallery in London, England on Tuesday night, March 12.
Beatrice was stunning in a quirky crimson Alaia midi-dress made with luxurious velvet fabric which stopped just below her knee. She accessorized her look with black stockings and dark blue heels while bringing along a black clutch. Meanwhile, 34-year-old Edoardo sported a classic tux complete with a black bow tie.
The couple first sparked dating speculation back in November. While their romance is fairly new, it is said that Beatrice and Edoardo have known each other for years as their parents run in similar circles. His stepfather is Christopher Shale, a British political operative and close friend of previous Prime Minister David Cameron. Prince Andrew and Sarah considered Shale as friends and went to his funeral in 2011.
Prior to romancing Edoardo, Beatrice was in a relationship with Dave Clark for nearly a decade. The former couple broke up in August 2016. "It is very much a break. It is amicable and mutual. They both need space after a period of ten years to see what they both want," a source said at the time. "They are both open-minded about what might happen in the future."
Back to the 2019 Portrait Gala, the event was also attended by the likes of Kate Middleton and David Beckham, who brought along his wife Victoria Adams. While the Duchess of Cambridge stepped out in her 2017 BAFTA gown, the Spice Girls member looked effortlessly stylish in white blouse and a pair of black trousers.
