Fifth Member addressed their shady performance at MTV Video Music Awards over the weekend. Normani Kordei, Lauren Jauregui, Ally Brooke and Dinah Jane supposedly dissed former member Camila Cabello at the star-studded event.

In a post-VMAs interview on "Good Morning America", Ally explained, "We get asked all the time if we're getting a fifth member and we wanted to show the world in an artistic way that, hey, the four of us are Fifth Harmony. And we're stronger and better than we've ever been."

The foursome set tongues wagging when they threw a silhouette of a fifth member off the stage. They performed "Angel" and "Down" at the live telecast hosted by Katy Perry. Both are taken from their self-titled studio album. They were joined by rapper Gucci Mane during the controversial performance.

Camila Cabello left the girl group in December 2016. "After four and a half years of being together, we have been informed via her representatives that Camila has decided to leave Fifth Harmony. We wish her well," the group announced back then.

Camila hasn't responsed to the group's shady VMA performance. The 20-year-old singer is currently preparing for the release of her solo debut album "The Hurting. The Healing. The Loving." She has released two singles since launching her solo career. She collaborated with Machine Gun Kelly on "Bad Things" in 2016 for his album and dropped "Crying in the Club" this year as a first taste of her upcoming effort.

In a radio interview, Camila suggested that the group held her back as she revealed that she almost lent her vocals to The Chainsmokers' hit single "Closer" which eventually featured Halsey. "I loved the song," she said, "but I had to turn it down because I was with the group at the time, and we were about to put an album out. I always tried to do my solo stuff off cycle, so that was super on, and so I had to say no, and then that was the number one song in the world."
