Captain America May Use Different Superhero Moniker in 'Avengers: Infinity War'
Movie

Steve Rogers may not wear Captain America's shield anymore in the upcoming team-up movie, following events in 'Captain America: Civil War'.

AceShowbiz - Steve Rogers may be Captain America no more in "Avengers: Infinity War". While the upcoming movie will bring back together the original Avengers as well as newer additions to the MCU team, Steve reportedly will discard the Captain America identity following events in "Captain America: Civil War", where he clashed with Tony Stark a.k.a. Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.).

MCU Exchange claims to have learned that Steve will use a different superhero moniker taken from his comic book counterpart and adopt the name Nomad. A bearded Chris Evans in the "Avengers: Infinity War" footage screened at D23 supports the theory of Steve's transition. However, he reportedly won't don the exact duplicate of Nomad's costume in "Infinity War".

Steve Rogers becomes Nomad in the comics after he's disillusioned by the revelation of the Secret Empire running America. His decision to become Nomad in the upcoming movie may represent him still wanting to be heroic, but without following the orders from the government of a country which law he doesn't agree with.

In "Infinity Wars", as the Avengers and their allies have continued to protect the world from threats too large for any one hero to handle, a new danger has emerged from the cosmic shadows: Thanos. A despot of intergalactic infamy, his goal is to collect all six Infinity Stones, artifacts of unimaginable power, and use them to inflict his twisted will on all of reality. Everything the Avengers have fought for has led up to this moment-the fate of Earth and existence itself has never been more uncertain.

Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Elizabeth Olsen, Paul Bettany, Sebastian Stan, Paul Rudd, Benedict Cumberbatch, Chadwick Boseman, Tom Holland and Josh Brolin also star in it, joined by "Guardians of the Galaxy" cast including Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper and Vin Diesel.

Directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, the movie is slated to open in theaters nationwide on May 4, 2018.
