The 'A Dog Purpose' actor joins Matthew Broderick, Annette Bening and Sarah Paulson as the cast members of the second installment of Ryan Murphy's anthology series.

AceShowbiz - "Katrina: American Crime Story" has cast its George W. Bush. Dennis Quaid ("Fortitude") will portray the 43rd president of U.S. on the second installment of Ryan Murphy's critically acclaimed anthology series.

"Katrina: American Crime Story" centers on the legal issues surrounding Hurricane Katrina, one of the five deadliest hurricanes in the history of the United States. Quaid will be playing Bush, who was heavily criticized for lackadaisical response to the affected area during the Hurricane Katrina, which flooded Louisiana and parts of the South.

Quaid will join previously-announced cast members, including Matthew Broderick as Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) director Michael D. Brown and Annette Bening as Louisiana governor Kathleen Blanco. Sarah Paulson is also confirmed to play some kind of new role on the series.

Quaid is no stranger to playing a POTUS role. He previously portrayed Bill Clinton in "A Special Relationship". He is best known for his roles in "The Day After Tomorrow", "The Parent Trap" and "The Rookie". He can next be seen in "I Can Only Imagine" as Arthur.

"Katrina: American Crime Story" is expected to be released sometime in 2018 on FX, while the third season of "American Crime Story", titled "The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story", is set to air six month later.
