"Spider-Man: Homecoming" won't arrive until summer 2017, but the lead actor, Tom Holland, reveals that the sequel is already in the works. Speaking to WWD, the third Spidey actor has confirmed that he is currently in discussion with both Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures about the project.
"My next project, I can't tell you about, but we've just finished 'Spider-Man'," the British actor said, before talking about his next solo movie. "And we're talking about the second one and who the villain is going to be and where we're going."
In other news, Variety reported that Holland was still unsure if he would reprise his role as Peter Parker a.k.a. Spider-Man in "Avengers: Infinity War". "It's all up in the air," the 20-year-old actor said. "I believe some sort of deal is in the mix, but I'm unclear as to what that deal is."
"Spider-Man: Homecoming" will swing into U.S. theaters on July 7, 2017. The movie also stars Marisa Tomei, Robert Downey Jr., Michael Keaton, Zendaya Coleman and Donald Glover. Meanwhile, "Avengers: Infinity War" is set for a May 4, 2018 release and has Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth and Elizabeth Olsen on board to reprise their respective roles as the Avengers.
