The National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences has decided on the opening act of the upcoming 58th annual Grammy Awards. The cast members of "Hamilton" are tapped to kick off Music's Biggest Night on February 15 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.

"We're going to do the opening number, scream with joy, and then celebrate the fact that we were just on the Grammys. Best night ever," gushes Lin-Manuel Miranda who wrote the music, lyrics, and book for the critically-acclaimed Broadway play.

"We've never done any live performances in front of a televised audience," adds "Hamilton" producer Jeffrey Seller. "It's always been important for us to perform in context. Once (Grammy executives) said, 'We'll come to you,' we knew it would work."

"Hamilton" gets a nomination for Best Musical Theater Album at the 2016 Grammys. Hosted by LL Cool J, the show also features performances by Adele, Kendrick Lamar, The Weeknd, Justin Bieber, and Carrie Underwood among others. David Bowie will receive a posthumous Lifetime Achievement Award. Lady GaGa is set to perform a tribute to the late music icon.
