Macklemore & Ryan Lewis has just unveiled a new song as they're gearing up to release their new album, "This Unruly Mess I've Made". Called "White Privilege II", the track features Jamila Woods and serves as a sequel to "White Privilege" that Macklemore recorded for his 2005 solo album, "The Language of My World".
The rapper touches on the racial tension in America on the 9-minute new track, mentioning the Black Lives Matter movement and name-dropping fellow white entertainers as he reignites debate about cultural appropriation over the piano instrumental.
"You've exploited and stolen the music, the moment/ The magic, the passion, the fashion you toyed with/ The culture was never yours to make better/ You're Miley, you're Elvis, you're Iggy Azalea," he raps at one point.
"White Privilege II" will presumably appear on Macklemore & Ryan Lewis' sophomore album, which is coming out on February 26. The follow-up to their 2012 Grammy-winning effort "The Heist" has also been preceded by "Downtown" which reached No. 12 on Billboard 200 and "Growing Up (Sloane's Song)" that's penned by Ed Sheeran.
