The 'Ex Machina' actress was 'too overwhelmed' when she knew that she was nominated for two Golden Globes in the same year, calling it 'crazy.'

AceShowbiz - Alicia Vikander couldn't hide her excitement when she knew that she was nominated for two Golden Globes in the same year. The 27-year-old actress would compete in the Supporting Actress category for her role as Ava, a humanoid robot, in "Ex Machina". She was also up against some A-listers in the Best Actress in a Motion Picture - Drama lineup for "The Danish Girl".

When hearing the news, the actress admitted she was surprised and overexcited. "I heard the news that I'd been nominated and I freaked out," she said. "And then a little while later I heard the news again and I couldn't even freak out. I was too overwhelmed. I just didn't know what to do. I just got off the phone with my parents. It's crazy, really."

A little bit different from Vikander, Amy Schumer had a hilarious reaction to her Golden Globe nomination. Knowing that her partner in crime Jennifer Lawrence was nominated in the same category as her, Schumer declared that their friendship was "over."

"As soon as I saw that we were both nominated, I took her right out of my phone because our friendship is obviously over," Schumer joked. "It's really every woman for herself at this point, and I don't want her to kind of get in my head, you know?"

Schumer earned the Golden Globe nod for her big screen debut in "Trainwreck". She would compete against Lawrence, Melissa McCarthy, Maggie Smith and Lily Tomlin in the Best Actress in a Motion Picture - Comedy category.

Vikander and Schumer were not the only movie stars celebrating the nominations. Leonardo DiCaprio, who was nominated for Best Actor for "The Revenant", thanked Hollywood Foreign Press Association for the nomination. "I am incredibly grateful for their nomination, as well as the recognition they have given to this film and to Alejandro's vision as its director," he said. "Making 'The Revenant' was a true honor for me. I also want to extend congratulations to all nominees this season. Thank you again to the HFPA."

Vikander's co-star Eddie Redmayne, who would compete in the Best Actor in a Motion Picture - Drama category for "The Danish Girl", said, "I'm equally thrilled that Alicia and Alexandre have been recognised as well. Having the opportunity to help tell Lili and Gerda's story has been a great privilege for me, and I am hugely grateful for the guidance, generosity and insight given to me by the transgender community."

Meanwhile, Michael Fassbender, who earned a Golden Globe nod for for his role in "Steve Jobs", shared, "I'm very grateful to the Hollywood Foreign Press Association for the nomination. This film, and working with Danny Boyle and our amazing cast, has been one of the most creative and amazing experiences of my professional life. It's lovely to be honored."

The 2016 Golden Globe nominees in movie category were announced on Thursday, December 10. LGBT movie "Carol" leads the pack with five nods, followed by "The Revenant" that earns four.
