Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, Pharrell Williams and Gwen Stefani open the show by covering each other's song and score two singers each at the end of the night.

AceShowbiz - The search for the new "The Voice" winner has officially begun. The ninth cycle was kicked off on Monday, September 21 with Adam Levine, Blake Shelton and Pharrell Williams as well as Gwen Stefani, who was in season 7, back as the coaches.

The season premiere opened with a performance by the four coaches. Gwen covered Blake's "Neon Light", while Blake took on Gwen's "Don't Speak". Pharrell did Adam's "Sugar" and Adam covered "Get Lucky" by Daft Punk feat. Pharrell.

As always, the competition started with the Blind Auditions. The first contestant to perform for the coaches was Mark Hood. Singing Bill Withers' "Use Me", he got all four coaches hit the buzzers for him. He chose Pharrell as his mentor.

Kota Wade sang "Bring It on Home to Me". Her voice was a bit rough and she seemed to run out of breath. Yet, Blake, Gwen and Pharrell immediately hit the buzzers for her. A fan of Gwen, she picked the No Doubt frontwoman as her mentor.

Up next was Keith Semple. The 33-year-old Irish rocker played guitar while covering Bon Jovi's "I'll Be There for You". Adam's chair was the first to turn, followed by Gwen and Pharrell. Adam promised to introduce him to Bono, and as a fellow rocker Keith picked Adam as his coach.

Siahna Im is still 15 years old but she has a big voice. Her rendition of "Fever" captured the heart of Gwen. She hit the buzzer after only a few words, followed by Pharrell and Blake seconds later. She chose to be on Team Pharrell.

Jordan Smith took the stage later, performing Sia Furler's "Chandelier" and the audience soon applauded him. Blake hit the buzzer first. Gwen and Pharrell followed at around the same time, and Adam eventually turned his chair too. Gwen was shocked by his lovely female voice, calling it the "trippiest" Blind Audition ever. Blake said he's the best coach for him and expected Jordan to agree with him, but the boy from Harlan went with Adam instead.

Nadjah Nicole took on "Tightrope". Adam hit the buzzer when it seemed that no one would turn around. Then Blake hit his buzzer as the final notes were playing out. Despite Adam claiming Blake was late, Nadjah chose to be on Blake's team.

Braiden Sunshine, a 15-year-old from Lyme, CT, has a youthful and smooth voice that matches his sweet face. Gwen and Pharrell hit the buzzers at the last second. After the two coaches pitched themselves, Braiden chose Gwen as his mentor.

Barrett Baber is a husband and father from Arkansas. Having dedicated himself to his wife and children, it's time for him to channel his true passion in singing. His performance of "Angel Eyes" wowed all four coaches who hit the buzzers for him. Blake emphasized their same country roots to sell himself, but Adam said he would destroy for Barrett. Barrett eventually picked Blake.

At the end of the night, each coach scored two singers each.
