Michael Fassbender and his Swedish girlfriend Alicia Vikander reportedly have split after dating for 9 months. Reports had been flying that the couple went through a rough patch with Jennifer Lawrence's name being dragged as the third wheel.
Fassbender and Vikander first met on the set of "The Light Between Oceans". They spent a lot of time together last year but were hardly seen together in the past few months. They were last photographed together in May to attend the Formula One Grand Prix in Monaco. Now Us Magazine reported that the couple had ended their relationship but no reason had been cited.
Fassbender was due to star opposite Vikander in "Assassin's Creed" but Deadline reported in June that she bowed out of the project due to tight schedule. She opted to join Matt Damon in "Bourne 5" instead.
Fassbender's name was linked to his "X-Men" co-star Lawrence after seen getting close on the film's set and while promoting the film at July's San Diego Comic-Con. It was always the case of bad timing for both of them. He was dating Zoe Kravitz when she split from Nicholas Hoult and she was already dating Chris Martin when he broke up with Kravitz.
