FOX has previewed the second season of "Empire" by releasing new photos from the first episode. Cookie (Taraji P. Henson) easily catches attention with her look as she rocks three completely different hairstyles for different occasions.

In one picture, she sports curly hair when attending Lucious Lyon's (Terrence Howard) trial with her three sons Andre (Trai Byers), Jamal (Jussie Smollett) and Hakeem (Bryshere Y. Gray), as well as Lucious' assistant Becky Williams (Gabourey Sidibe).

Another shot sees her rocking a high bun while standing inside a fake prison cell, which is apparently used as stage prop during a "Free Lucious Lyon" concert. She arranges her hair in half updo in another image which shows her talking with Andre.

There are additionally images of Lucious in courtroom and the CEO of Empire Entertainment mingling with fellow inmates. Cookie is also seen visiting her ex-husband in jail, while Jamal and Hakeem team up onstage.

"Empire" returns Wednesday, September 23 at 9 P.M. on FOX. The show has tapped a bunch of A-listers such as Chris Rock, Kelly Rowland, Alicia Keys, Marisa Tomei, Lenny Kravitz, Ludacris, Adam Rodriguez, Mariah Carey and Pitbull as guest stars for the second season.

Viewers who want to catch up with the drama series before the season 2 premiere can watch the entire first season aired in marathon during Labor Day, Monday September 7 starting at noon ET/PT.
