Michael Shannon Clarifies 'Batman v Superman' Flipper Hands Rumor
Movie

The General Zod depicter said the rumor that his character would have flippers as hands in the upcoming superhero movie was wrong.

AceShowbiz - Michael Shannon previously hinted that his character, General Zod, would have flippers for hand in upcoming "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice". In a recent interview with The Daily Beast, Shannon made it clear that the information he said was not right.

Back in August, Shannon shared a surprising detail about the upcoming movie. "I was in my costume, and I couldn't use my fingers because in the sequel I have flippers instead of hands," he said. "So I had these wax flippers on my fingers, and I couldn't open the door, and I could hear Zack [Snyder] being like, 'Where's Shannon? Where the f**k is he?' And the whole crew was standing around. I was like, knocking on the door with my flippers, 'Let me out of here!' "

Speculations went wild ever since Shannon teased the untrue information. A fan suggested that Zod would be transformed into monster with a pair of flippers instead of hands. However, what Shannon said turned out to be wrong. The 41-year-old actor admitted that he had set up a fake story and he was apparently shocked that fans took it seriously.

"Somebody was asking me about this in New York and I made up some ridiculous bulls**t answer about how my character Zod has flippers, and this went viral on the Internet or something and people have been asking me about that. That is so obviously a complete bulls**t story, right? But people took it seriously," Shannon tried to clarify the rumor.

In the interview, Shannon also shared an information and it seemed to be pretty legitimate. He said that he would provide voiceover, but he would not actually appear in the film. "I went over and did some voice-over stuff because it's like that ghost thing. But I don't know if I'm supposed to say that. I get very nervous," he explained.

Ben Affleck and Henry Cavill star as the titular superheroes. Also in the cast are Gal Gadot, Jason Momoa and Amy Adams. "Batman v Superman" will be released in the U.S. on March 25, 2016.
