Young actors between the age of 18 and 20 are eyed to replace Andrew Garfield in the untitled new Spider-Man movie.

Sony has reportedly zeroed in on at least five young actors to assume the coveted role of Spider-Man. Nat Wolff ("The Fault in Our Stars"), Asa Butterfield ("Ender's Game"), Tom Holland ("The Impossible"), Timothee Chalamet ("Interstellar"), and Liam James ("The Way, Way Back") are among the list.

The candidates revealed by TheWrap range in age from 18 to 20. Other names also linked to replace Andrew Garfield in the upcoming superhero redo are Dylan O'Brien ("The Maze Runner"), Nolan Gould ("Modern Family"), and Mateus Ward ("Weeds").

Spidey will appear in Marvel's "Captain America: Civil War" in May 6, 2016 before getting his own solo film later at Sony. The still untitled new Spider-Man movie is expected to be helmed by Drew Goddard ("The Cabin in the Woods"), who was attached to direct one of "The Amazing Spider-Man" spin-offs before it got shelved.

Kevin Feige previously revealed that the Spider-Man reboot would focus on Peter Parker in his high school years, but the producer didn't rule out telling the story of a non-white webslinger in a later installment. The plotline is still kept under wraps, but it won't be an origin story.
