Hours before the 57th Annual Grammy Awards which airs live starts on Sunday, February 8, some of the winners were already announced via the Grammys' official Twitter account. The late Joan Rivers was one of them, winning Best Spoken Word Album for "Diary of a Mad Diva".
It's her first Grammy Award and the first award which she won posthumously. She was previously nominated for Best Comedy Album at the 1984 Grammy Awards for her work on "What Becomes a Semi-Legend Most?".
Eminem already won two, one of which was for Best Rap Album for his "The Marshall Mathers LP 2" or "MMLP2". He won another award, Best Rap/Sung Collaboration, for his collaboration with Rihanna, "The Monster".
Powerhouse couple Jay-Z and Beyonce Knowles nabbed Best R&B Song for their collaboration "Drunk in Love". Pharrell Williams grabbed Best Urban Contemporary Album for his "G I R L", his second album that peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 chart. Kendrick Lamar took home Best Rap Performance and Best Rap Song for "I", while Weird Al Yankovic snatched Best Comedy Album for his "Mandatory Fun".
Toni Braxton's "Love, Marriage, & Divorce" was named Best R&B Album. Other winners included Robert Glasper (Best Traditional R&B Vocal Performance for "Jesus Children"), Rosanne Cash (Best American Roots Performance for "A Feather's Not A Bird" and Best Americana Album for "The River & The Thread") and Old Crow Medicine Show (Best Folk Album for "Remedy"). Max Martin, meanwhile, was honored with Producer of the Year, Non-Classical award.
