AceShowbiz - Rob Lowe suffered an injury during surfing and needed stitches. The "Parks and Recreation" actor took to social media on Sunday, October 19 to share a photo of him posing with his surfing board. Despite his bleeding right knee, Lowe can be seen sporting a wide smile. "So sharky," he captioned the photo.

"The amount of blood that can unwantedly come out of one's body is amazing," he said of his injury in a Twitter post. The "Killing Kennedy" actor also shared a photo of his knee when he received stitches. "My day so far. I will live. #SurfStitches," he wrote.

Lowe loves surfing and a passionate supporter of wildlife. "My family and I spend a lot of time on the ocean. We love being outdoors, and I can see that my sons care deeply about the ocean and wildlife too," the 50-year-old actor, who helped promote Discovery Channel's "Shark Week" over the summer, told Parade magazine. "As an avid surfer, I am at home in the water. And the well-being of our marine wildlife and environment resonates very deeply with me."

"Maybe it's because I'm a Pisces," he said to Huffington Post of his hobby on Friday night. "But whether it's surfing or just being in the water, I find the ocean unbelievably recharging."

Lowe made the statement when attending Seth Rogen's Hilarity for Charity event in the Champagne Room at the famed Palladium Theater in Hollywood, California which is held annually to raise awareness to Alzheimer's. Stand-up comedian Kumail Nanjiani, Sarah Silverman and Marcia Gay Harden were also among attendees at the event.
