Guy Pearce and Dominic West to Play Literary Figures in 'Genius'
Movie

In Michael Grandage's feature debut, Pearce takes the role of F. Scott Fitzgerald while West is set to star as Ernest Hemmingway.

AceShowbiz - Michael Grandage's "Genius" adds Guy Pearce and Dominic West to its already impressive rooster. The two actors are set to join Colin Firth, Jude Law, Nicole Kidman and Laura Linney in the drama.

"Genius" is the story of literary editor Max Perkins, the fedora-wearing eccentric editor-in-chief at New York publishing house Scribner. He oversaw the release of works by F. Scott Fitzgerald and Ernest Hemingway. It would focus on the relationship between Perkins and a young Thomas Wolfe, though the script is peopled with literary characters.

Pearce is set for the role of Fitzgerald while West is to step in the role of Hemmingway. Law was already attached as Wolfe, playing opposite Firth as Perkins, Kidman as Aline Bernstein, and Linney as Louise Perkins.

Theater director Grandage is making his feature film debut in this movie. This is his third collaboration with producers James Bierman and John Logan. The script was written by Logan from A. Scott Berg's book of the same title. "John Logan is one of the greatest story-tellers of our time both on stage and screen, and I'm loving working with him again on 'Genius'," said Grandage.

Filming will begin this October in the U.K.
