Despite all the publication he's made during the year, Tom Cruise is still chosen as the top. The actor has on Thursday June 15th, 2006 reclaimed his No. 1 spot on Forbes magazine's annual list of the World's 100 Most Powerful Stars.
Speaking on Cruise choosing as the No. 1, the publication revealed it was the much on the "media onslaught" he drew for his pairing with actress Katie Holmes as it did to his "awesome" box office clout, that made Cruise deserves the position.
As for you to know, the stars on its "Celebrity 100 Power List" were ranked according to their earning power and celebrity "sizzle" for the 12 months beginning last June. As of Cruise, he apparently still possesses plenty of both.
Forbes' other top-rated celebrities in 2006 among others are The Rolling Stones, Oprah Winfrey, U2, Tiger Woods, and Steven Spielberg, all securing the 2nd to 6th position on the poll. As for the No. 7 to 10, there we have Howard Stern, 50 Cent, the cast of "The Sopranos," and Dan Brown.
