For musicians, going viral can be a blessing that eventually winds up as a curse. That kind of success usually will fade out in a flash, but Maggie Rogers is certainly not one of them. Through hard work and beautiful music, the songstress successfully captures the hearts of many people.

Rogers first made herself known to the world after a video of Pharrell Williams getting emotional while listening to her perform a demo of "Alaska". Since then, her life has never been the same again. Two of her independent albums garnered million of views as well as thousands of plays after that, with "Alaska" peaking at No. 18 on Billboard's Hot Rock Songs chart. Making things even better, she signed a deal with major record label Capitol Records.

Proving that she's a capable musician whom people should be looking out for, she released her first EP "Now That the Light Is Fading" in 2017 to favorable reviews. Even its lead single "On + Off" made it to the Hot Rock Songs chart. "Maggie is such a fresh new artist and this album was shooting and satisfying," one reviewer said at the time. "Feels very natural and brings me joy. I do want to hear more!"

Following two major TV appearances, "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" and "Saturday Night Live", Maggie finally released her debut album "Heard It in a Past Life" on January 18. 2019. Talking about the album, the singer noted that the effort was made "between my childhood bedroom in Maryland and friends' home studios in Los Angeles." She added, "I think that space can really charge or color the writing process. It can give you permission to be loud or vulnerable. I think we're all products of our environments in some way or another."

"Heard It in a Past Life" arrived at No. 2 on Billboard 200, marking her first top ten effort on the chart. Meanwhile, its single "Light On" topped Billboard's Adult Alternative chart, becoming her first No. 1 song on any Billboard chart.
