Twenty One Pilots

Twenty One Pilots' "Stressed Out" officially becomes the group's biggest hit to date. Almost a year since it was released along with its accompanying music video, the single finally breaks into the top 5 of Billboard Hot 100 this week.

The rap-tinged pop/rock song focuses on real-life problems a lot of young people have during their transition into adulthood. It has also been topping the Hot Rock Songs and Alternative Songs charts for multiple weeks

Twenty One Pilots invading the top 5 of the all-genre singles chart is a feat they didn't easily achieve, considering the fact that bigger names like Adele and Justin Bieber have been dominating the list for months.

Their success came six years after Tyler Joseph formed the band with his two college friends who later quit and were replaced by Josh Dun. They released their first projects independently before signing with Fueled by Ramen, under which they dropped "Vessel" in 2013 and its follow-up "Blurryface" in 2015.

The latter, on which "Stressed Out" is included, made its debut at No. 1 on Billboard 200 following its arrival last May. In support of the record, the group will launch their biggest tour yet, the "Emotional Roadshow", on May 31 this year.

They're scheduled to perform nearly 40 dates across the U.S. and Canada in stadiums and arenas before concluding the tour with a show at Madison Square Garden on August 10 in New York.

TWENTY ONE PILOTS BIO

Twenty One Pilots is a Columbus, Ohio duo which was originally formed in 2009 by college friends Tyler Joseph, Nick Thomas and Chris Salih. Joseph came up with the band's name while studying "All My Sons" by Arthur Miller, a play about a man who must decide what is best for his family after causing the death of 21 pilots during World War II because he knowingly sent them faulty parts for the good of his business.
