BROCKHAMPTON emerged as one of the most dynamic and unconventional forces in modern hip-hop, branding themselves as an "all-American boy band." The collective was founded in 2015 in San Marcos, Texas, through the online forum KanyeToThe, where founding member Kevin Abstract sought collaborators. The original, sprawling group included vocalists, producers, graphic designers, photographers, and web developers, creating a self-contained creative universe. Their early work culminated in the mixtape series "All-American Trash" in 2016, which began to attract a dedicated online following for their genre-blending sound and DIY ethos.

The group's breakthrough arrived in 2017 with the landmark "Saturation" trilogy. Releasing three full-length albums—"Saturation," "Saturation II," and "Saturation III"—in a single year, they achieved a remarkable feat of creativity and output. Led by singles like "GOLD," "SWEET," and "BOOGIE," the albums were celebrated for their raw energy, eclectic production, and candid explorations of identity, mental health, and youth. This prolific period, supported by a series of inventive music videos, cemented their status as internet-era icons and critical darlings. The core creative team during this era included vocalists Kevin Abstract, Matt Champion, Merlyn Wood, Dom McLennon, and Joba, alongside producers Romil Hemnani and Jabari Manwa.

Following a major label signing to RCA Records, BROCKHAMPTON released "Iridescence" in 2018, which debuted at number one on the Billboard 200. This was followed by "Ginger" in 2019, which contained their highest-charting single, "SUGAR." Their music continued to evolve, incorporating more melodic and introspective elements while maintaining their collaborative spirit. The group announced their final album, "The Family," and a companion project, "TM," in 2022, marking the end of their initial run. Their final performance was at the 2022 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival. Throughout their career, BROCKHAMPTON was celebrated for redefining the concept of a band, championing inclusivity, and producing a vast, influential body of work that captured the complexity of their generation.
