Now that he's been booted out of the priesthood, Jack needs a place to stay. So, he moves into Hobbes' underground lair. Talk about an odd couple. Eli Cohn's right-hand man, John Fierro, also stops by the hideout. He says there's a strategy meeting of Cohn's top lieutenants taking place in Bangkok. These guys are reluctant to welcome Erica as their new leader. They want to see a plan.

Tyler undergoes a series of tests aboard the mothership and gets a brand new buzzcut. His phosphorus levels aren't up to snuff for interbreeding. A guy named Rafael from Barcelona is Anna's best backup candidate. She says, "Lisa will breed with whomever I tell her to." She's such a good mom. As for Tyler, he's to be given an infusion of phosphorus. If his body rejects it, he's no longer of use to the Visitors.

Anna suspects Lisa is experiencing human emotions. She wants Joshua to feel her out by saying his memory is returning. But when Joshua speaks of his Fifth Column days, Lisa doesn't take the bait. Diana tells Lisa that her mother can never know that she has feelings for Tyler. Otherwise she'll end up like her. Lisa must prove to Anna that she's a loyal daughter even if that means hooking up with Rafael.

John Fierro says that Dr. Veena Rai is the specialist who treated the mothers of the babies who had their DNA altered. Erica was one of her patients. The team tracks down Dr. Rai. She's a V who takes a suicide dive off her Hong Kong high-rise before Erica and Hobbes can glean any info. Fortunately, they are able to break into the doc's apartment safe to snag her files. She has records of 29 boys in every city with a mothership parked over it. Since there are other test subjects out there, Erica realizes that Tyler is expendable.

The prenatal vitamins Dr. Rai gave to her patients were booby-trapped with hideous scours inside. They were programmed to go after DNA with a Y chromosome and create an empty space. Lisa provides Chad Decker with the reason why. It has to do with the needle test of the live-aboards, who happen to be genetically exceptional specimens. Anna is harvesting the best DNA out there to fast-track the evolution of her species.

Joshua tells Anna that Lisa gave no sign of showing human emotion when he tried to trick her, but he also caught her checking out medical files. Anna sees that Lisa is unable to go through with her seduction of Rafael. This leads to a little mother-daughter mini-smackdown. Anna tells Lisa that her breeding skin is fueling the aggression she needs to lead the Vs. But she's not queen yet. Until that day comes, Lisa will do as she's told.

Anna had one queen egg preserved. If Lisa proves disloyal, she can be replaced. Joshua will need to hatch the egg, but accelerated growth would be needed. More tests need to be run to pursue this option. The only viable test subject is the hybrid baby. Joshua says such tests could kill the child. Anna responds, "Then she'll die serving her queen."

Erica impresses Eli Cohn's lieutenants with the DNA info she uncovered. They are now willing to accept her as the new leader of the Fifth Column. Anna will be able to move to the next part of her plan once she snags the DNA of the final group of live-aboards headed up to the mothership. Erica says they need to stop that from happening.

Ryan survived the blast at Eli Cohn's place. He contacts Jack asking for help to get his baby away from Anna. That's not going to happen. Anna learns that she no longer has leverage on Ryan. The testing they've done on his little girl has boosted her immune system and cured the illness Anna gave her. This news, along with the fact that Ryan can no longer be her Fifth Column spy, leads Anna to give the order that he be quietly eliminated.

Lisa worries that Tyler has stopped caring. She knows that her only ally on the ship is Diana. She provides her with a communication device so they can keep in contact without Anna finding out. And Diana gives Lisa something her mother never did: a hug.
