Carrie and the team are called to a crime scene where the victim's face has been blown off by a shotgun. Carrie knows who the body is before Roe pulls out his ID: the man who has been playing mind games with her, Walter Morgan. To make matters worse, Carrie was the last person to see Morgan alive, as she'd met him at this very location the night before. A man named Jensen had lured her to the warehouse, promising details on her sister's murder, but when she arrived Morgan was waiting for her instead. As the team collects evidence, all of it leads right back to Carrie, making her the prime suspect. Morgan had Carrie's DNA under his fingernails, was killed by her police-issue shotgun, and there's video footage of her leaving the warehouse the night before. Eventually, Carrie figures out that Morgan is framing her, hoping to separate her from the team and get her on her own. Using clues that Morgan meticulously planted at two crime scenes, Carrie figures out that More...Morgan is very much alive; and that his real name is actually John Fox. He switched identities with the real Walter Morgan years ago, then killed him to set Carrie up. Carrie and the team set up a sting operation at the Long Island Bridge to catch the fake Morgan, but he senses the trap and takes Carrie hostage. She surprises him, disarms him, and knocks him over the bridge railing. She struggles to hold him, determined to learn what he knows about her sister's death, but Al convinces her to let him go before she goes over the edge herself. With that, Morgan plunges into the East River, presumably to his death. Later, a CSI tech gives Carrie a phone belonging to Morgan, and she dials the only number in the call history. The man who answers works for the Syracuse Police Department, and he informs her that they just found the body of a long-time child killer. Could this be the man who murdered her sister?
