Three agents leave the Bureau of Engraving and Printing and get into an armored truck. One of the agents has a briefcase containing an engraving plate for the $100 bill handcuffed to his wrist. As they drive into a tunnel, an unknown man maneuvers a small remote-controlled monster truck with a bundle of explosives strapped to it under the armored trunk and detonates it. Armed gunmen shoot and kill two of the agents, then find the man with the briefcase. When they realize he doesn't have the key to unlock the handcuffs releasing the briefcase, they saw it off.

At Bloom Catering, Lizzy is on another one of her mysterious phone calls when Samantha calls a staff meeting. Samantha announces that since she and Steven will be traveling even more, they're officially promoting Lizzy to catering manager. The promotion comes as a surprise to Lizzy. She tells Samantha she'll have to think about it. Her hesitation seems strange to Samantha, but the discussion has to wait, as Shaw has arrived with their next mission. A Secret Service transport carrying $100 currency plates was attacked and engraving plates were stolen. Since it seems that the plates have left the country, it's the duo's job to secure them before any counterfeit money is printed. As there are no leads, Shaw instructs them to contact a CIA agent with expertise in this area. After much discussion, the team decides to go to Washington to meet with Gary, the agency's leading expert. Gary also happens to be Steven's brother, whom he hasn't spoken to in five years.

When Steven and Samantha arrive at Gary's, Steven learns that Samantha did not in fact call to inform his brother they were coming like he thought. Gary doesn't seem too happy to see his little brother, and it's apparent from their interaction that they've had a rough relationship in the past. Gary coldly gives them information on the eight master printers capable of making such counterfeits, and Steven and Samantha go on their way. They meet up with Hoyt, who informs them that a Greek-American master printer named Jonathan Rakas retired six months ago from a 45-year career with the Bureau of Engraving. He now lives in Cyprus, and hasn't been heard from in a week. The team decides to head to Cyprus to see what they can find out.

Now in Cyprus, Samantha and Steven break into Rakas' villa to find a messy art studio filled with used canvases. Rakas has been using the canvases in an attempt to duplicate the color of money. They scan his mixing stick with a paint scanner to discover that Rakas has successfully blended the correct color combination. Meanwhile, back in the States, Lizzy enters the Bloom household, startling Leo, who's struggling in the kitchen. Unaware that Steven and Samantha asked Leo to housesit, Lizzy explains she normally camps out at their place when they're away. She decides to stay and help Leo cook dinner. Back in Cyprus, Hoyt uses an invoice for dye found in Rakas' apartment to look for recent large orders that have been shipped. Hoyt discovers that a ship carrying an entire load of dye is in transit to a port in Croatia, where unbeknownst to the team, a man pays off the port attendant to receive the shipment the next day.

The team travels to Croatia and stakes out the ship as it's unloaded. Once the shipment is loaded on a truck, the team makes their move. Disguised as Interpol Currency Enforcement, they order the driver to open the containers so they can confiscate the shipment. However once opened, the containers are filled with shoes. It appears someone switched the numbers on the outside of the containers. The team interrogates the port attendant, who insists he knows nothing. Samantha rewinds the security cameras to learn the shipment was picked up at 3 p.m. by a fleet vehicle. Hoyt uses the license plate number to locate the truck and follow its GPS signal. They find the truck parked at a casino - the perfect place to launder counterfeit money. The casino is run by Goran Hincir, a Balkan crime boss who also happens to be the man who paid off the port attendant.

Steven enters the casino disguised as a high roller at his bachelor party with a friend, who happens to be Hoyt. Samantha scopes the casino floor dressed as a cocktail waitress, searching for the printing expert they believe Hincir kidnapped. She spots Rakas and tells him that Hincir wants to see him, then leads him to a hidden alcove. Steven arrests Rakas and demands to know the whereabouts of the plates. Rakas agrees to talk in exchange for protection, then explains that he produced the ink. The paper is on its way, and the plates are locked in a voice-activated vault that only Hincir can open. As Hoyt leaves to retrieve specs on the vault, he's met by Gary, who's been tracking them via Steven's cell phone GPS. According to Gary, the best way to take down Hincir is to exploit his vulnerability: his brother, who's also the dock foreman. Back home, Leo takes Lizzy for a drive in the Bloom's car. When he asks why she hasn't yet accepted the promotion, Lizzy explains that she doesn't want it. She's tired of living in her sister's shadow.

Steven, Samantha and Gary go to the port in order to find Hincir's brother, who was born Novak Hincir, but has since changed his name, presumably to lose association with his gangster brother. The hope is that Novak will be able to replicate his brother's voice and gain access to the vault. Gary and Steven enter the dock office together to interrogate Novak. Steven's hands-on; his aggressive methods prompt Gary to order his little brother outside to talk. Samantha finds the two brothers arguing angrily and demands they find a way to get along, at least until the mission's complete. Steven goes back into the office to take care of Novak by himself.

Back at the casino, Hoyt briefs Steven and Gary on the specs of the high-security vault and his three-phased plan. After turning Rakas into Interpol, Samantha works on phase three. Hoyt has outfitted a casino chip with a powerful radio frequency transmitter that can intercept the vault's combination from Hincir's receiver. Phase one is to make sure the chip makes it into the vault so the combination can be intercepted. Hoyt's plan is to lose the chip in play before 11 p.m., which is when Hincir will enter the vault to trade out the big chips. When Hoyt explains that phase two, getting into the vault, has yet to be figured out, Steven comes up with an idea.

The men hit the casino floor and the receiver chip is picked up as planned. Steven places a bet over the blackjack table's limit. When the dealer refuses to raise the limit, Steven demands to see Mr. Hincir. Meanwhile, Hincir takes the cart of chips, including the receiver chip, into the vault. The combination is successfully sent to Hoyt's phone. Hincir then goes to the table to address Steven's issue. Recording their conversation, Hoyt and Steven manipulate Hincir into saying each number of the combination. Steven hands the recording device to Gary, who hands it off to Samantha.

Back in the casino, Novak arrives to inform his brother that Steven came looking for him and the shipment. Hincir instructs one of his men to check on the plate while he takes care of Steven. Threatening with his gun, Hincir orders Steven to follow him. As Samantha tries to pick the lock on the vault corridor gate, Hincir's man catches her. In another part of the casino, Hincir watches his assistant fight Samantha on the security monitor. Handcuffed to a chair, Steven, too, sees his wife struggle as Hincir demands to know why he's here. When Samantha knocks out the security guard, Hincir leaves Novak with Steven while he heads down to take out Samantha.

Samantha successfully picks the lock but finds herself separated from the vault by a laser field. When Novak uncuffs Steven, it appears he's been on Steven's side all along. With Novak's help, Steven breaks into Hincir's computer and disarms the lasers. Samantha uses the voice recorder and successfully gains entry to the vault. Moments later, Hincir enters the vault only to find the plates are gone. Samantha escapes with the plates and jumps into a waiting van.

As Steven and Novak leave the building, Hincir meets them and outs Novak as his brother. When it appears Hincir is going to shoot and kill them both, Gary shoots him in the chest. Later on, the two brothers reconcile their differences, both revealing that they actually have a great deal of love and respect for each other. The team returns home to the States.

Shaw visits the catering business to inform that Hincir survived and is now in custody, and the plates are back in safe hands. After work, Steven and Samantha return home to find a cozy Leo and Lizzy cooking. Samantha's uncomfortable with their growing relationship, but Lizzy assures her they're strictly friends, and Leo has been helping her make some decisions. Lizzy's not going to take the job as catering manager. Instead, she's making the "leap of faith" Samantha always wished she would. Lizzy has decided to follow her boyfriend on his European tour; she's finally ready to take hold of her own life now. Rather than get upset, Samantha tells Lizzy she'll miss her. The two sisters hug, Lizzy leaves, and Steven comforts his wife.
