The trail gets even stranger when trace from a German U-boat and a frozen gunshot wound is found on the victim. Mac and the team find the killer and realize he had no idea the old man and young woman were not the same person. Jo makes a tough choice and decides to tell her adopted daughter, Ellie, who her real mother is - a woman sentenced to life in Federal prison - and the most difficult part is to tell Ellie that Jo was the one who put her away.
