The man charged with attempted burglary of Paris Hilton's Los Angeles home was thwarted by the socialite's boyfriend, who pulled a gun on the intruder before police arrived at the scene, reports TMZ.com.
Hilton took to Twitter.com to reveal her terror after she was woken up on Tuesday morning, August 24 by a strange noise and discovered Nathan Lee Parada holding two large knives and trying to gain entry to her house. Cops arrested the intruder in the socialite's garden.
But new reports suggest it was the hotel heiress' boyfriend, nightclub mogul Cy Waits, who stopped the burglary, by pulling a gun on the suspect before he could get inside. Law enforcement sources tell TMZ.com Waits went outside with his weapon drawn and ordered Parada to drop the knives and lay on his stomach until police arrived.
The Los Angeles County District Attorney has charged Parada, 31, with one felony count of attempted residential burglary with a person present. Parada is being held on $50,000 (GBP33,300) bail and is reportedly on a 5150 involuntary psychiatric hold. He faces up to six years in state prison if convicted.
