AceShowbiz - "The Voice" season 16 kicked off on Monday, February 25 on NBC. New coach John Legend joined returning coaches Blake Shelton, Adam Levine and Kelly Clarkson in the new season. The first episode saw the four coaches trying to find gems during Night 1 of Blind Auditions.

The first hopeful to hit the stage was Gyth Rigdon, a 24-year-old country singer from Louisiana. He opted for Uncle Kracker's "Drift Away", making Blake the first one turn his chair. Kelly and John followed but the latter apparently was blocked by Blake. Gyth eventually went to Team Blake.

Maelyn Jarmon, 25, from New York City revealed that she's deaf in one ear. Despite the struggles, she wowed everyone while performing a gorgeous rendition of Sting's "Fields of Gold". Adam and Blake hit their buttons simultaneously before Kelly and John followed. The four of them gave Maelyn a standing ovation. John called her "magic," while Kelly said that she's "unstoppable." Maelyn chose John!

The next singer was Karen Galera, 19, from Dallas. She sang Aventura's "Mi Coranzoncito". It didn't take long for Kelly to turn her chair for her. John also did the same. However, Karen picked to be on Team Kelly.

26-year-old Trey Rose from Oklahoma then took the stage to sing a terrific rendition of Avicii's "Wake Me Up". Adam and Blake were mesmerized as they hit their buttons. Later, Trey chose to go with Adam because he was the one who first turned for him.

Kim Cherry then performed TLC's "No Scrubs", making Kelly and Blake turn their musical chairs. She picked Blake over Kelly. It was later followed by a performance by AJ Ryan, who sang OneRepublic's "Love Runs Out". However, no one turned for him. Lisa Ramey, meanwhile, got a last-second tun with King of Leon's "Sex on Fire" as John turned his chair for her.

The next singer was Rizzi Myers, 29, from Nashville. She opted to sing Ariana Grande's "Breathin" but managed to make it like her own. Kelly loved it, turning her chair and blocking John. As the two once met at a concert, it was not surprising to see Rizzi choosing Kelly as her coach over Blake.

Performing Charlie Puth's "Attention" was Jimmy Mowery. He got Adam and John turn for him. Jimmy ended up going to Team Adam.

Lili Joy, 15, from California, followed it up with a rendition of Gwen Stefani's "Cool". Blake turned his chair, and said, "I can't wait for Gwen to hear that. She’s going to flip out." As Blake was the only coach hitting his button, Lili was automatically on Team Blake.

Nathan & Chesi, the first duo in the new season, then hit the stage to sing Waylon Jennings' "Waymore's Blues". No one turned, unfortunately. However, the two were invited to the Comeback Stage.

Rounding out the night was Matthew Johnson, 25. He performed Kirk Franklin's "I Smile". All the four coaches turned their chairs for Matthew with John saying that his "energy just lit up the room." He picked John as his coach.
