Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa says at New York Comic Con that he is hopeful a crossover between the two series will happen.

AceShowbiz - Sabrina Spellman may eventually cross paths with Archie Andrews, after all. When "Chilling Adventures of Sabrina" cast and showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa took the stage at the "Netflix & Chills" panel at New York Comic Con on October 5, he revealed that there's a possibility for them to meet each other on screen.

"I'm first and foremost a fan of these two towns, Riverdale and Greendale," Aguirre-Sacasa, who also executive produces "Riverdale", said. "I love when comic book characters cross over, so it's a dream. Right now, we're focused on getting 'Sabrina' out there and making sure 'Riverdale' is as good as it can be. So, I'm hopeful!"

While a crossover between the two series may not be happening anytime soon, Sabrina was supposed to appear in the first season of The CW series. "There was even a time when we talked about the season 1 cliffhanger being the arrival of Sabrina," Aguirre-Sacasa shared to EW. However, he didn't get through the plan because "as more crime show, that felt less and less like the right fit."

He continued explaining, "It felt like if 'Riverdale' is crime and pulp and all that stuff, then Sabrina could be horror. It felt like there was a separation between Greendale and Riverdale -- magic should exist in Greendale, but not in Riverdale. That was the thought."

Aguirre-Sacasa also revealed that he once thought about taking the teenage witch to the big screen. He even wrote a script for the movie which centered on Sabrina's sixteen birthday. The plan was eventually scrapped as Jason Blum of Blumhouse Productions "didn't want to pursue that."

"Chilling Adventures of Sabrina" is set to hit Netflix on October 26, while "Riverdale" will return for season 3 on Wednesday, October 10 on The CW.
