TV

Jesse Larson, Aliyah Moulden, Brennley Brown and other remaining singers sang their hearts out to avoid double eliminations in tomorrow's episode.

AceShowbiz - In Monday, May 8 episode, the remaining 10 singers of "The Voice" season 12 performed at their utmost best to get a spot in next week's semifinals. During the episode, the singers brought their moms to the rehearsal in honor of Mother's Day as they sang special songs dedicated to their mothers.

Jesse Larson (Team Adam Levine) opened the night by performing "Jungle Love" by The Time. With his guitar, he delivered an epic blues performance of the song which he had played a thousand times in his band. "Dude, you're superstar," Adam said, praising Jesse for his performance.

Aliyah Moulden (Team Blake Shelton) was up next, singing a slower song. Aliyah sang "Jealous" by Labrinth which she said was about and dedicated to her father, who passed away when she was very young. That was such a gorgeous and emotional performance as she broke down to tears toward the end of the song. Gwen Stefani said, "Crying happens to all of us. You did a great job. You should be proud of yourself."

Vanessa Ferguson (Team Alicia Keys) sang "Doo Wop (That Thing)" by Lauryn Hill. The song was right in her wheelhouse and Alicia helped the arrangement. Vanessa proved she was an all-round artist as she showcased her rap skill. Adam loved her "incredible rap" and said, "You need to start thinking about rapping a little bit."

Mark Isaiah from Team Adam took the stage to perform an unexpected choice of song. Mark performed an emotional and delicate ballad, playing piano and singing "Sign of The Times" by Harry Styles. "I feel like that was a really interesting choice. This is a whole different side to you," Gwen praised his decision to switch gears that night.

Before moving on to the next contestant's performance, Blake treated the crowd to a performance of his new single "Every Time I Hear That Song".

The competition was later resumed with Chris Blue (Team Alicia) singing "24K Magic" by Bruno Mars. He enjoyed it as he danced throughout the energetic performance without losing control over his vocal. His performance convinced Blake that Chris would be at the finale. "I think if somebody can't recognize how talented you are, they must be deaf. But now [with those dance moves], they would be deaf and blind," Blake said.

Lilli Passero (Team Adam) was up next, singing "Unforgettable" by Nat King Cole. That was such a classic and difficult song, but Lilli absolutely nailed it. "In the most classic sense of the word singing, I am proud of you for carrying on a true classic vocal," Adam gushed.

Lauren Duski of Team Blake next took the stage to sing "Tell Me Why" by Wynonna Judd. Lauren, who usually sang ballad songs, opted for a more upbeat score this week. Her performance surprised the coaches as Gwen said, "Whoa! You are like a living, country Barbie doll with a guitar. You are so beautiful tonight. That song is so Blake. It was perfect for you."

Hunter Plake's (Team Gwen) followed next, singing a rendition of "Higher Love" of Steve Winwood. Hunter showcased his creativity and turned the song into something that made sense for the present, according to Adam. Gwen was extremely satisfied with Hunter's performance as she dubbed him "the real deal."

Team Blake's TSoul was up next, singing "At This Moment" by Billy Vera and the Beaters. His vintage sound brought everything into a perfection again this week. "You are so genuine. Honestly, you have such a unique voice. It has its own stamp on it. Every time you come on stage, you give like 300 percent," Alicia said.

Rounding out that night's performances was Team Gwen's Brennley Brown. Brennley took the stage to perform her rendition of "Anyway" by Martina McBride. It was a soft country song which suited her perfectly as she nailed the high note at the end of the song. "I think your voice never shined brighter than it did tonight. You will continue to defy the odds," Blake complimented Brennley.
