According to the male lead, the upcoming eighth movie is 'the beginning of a new trilogy' in the 'Fast and Furious' franchise.
What's next in the franchise after "The Fate of the Furious"? Vin Diesel reveals plan for the franchise during a panel at CinemaCon, saying that the eighth installment will kick-start a new trilogy in the "Fast and Furious" saga.
"One of the things we're so proud of with this chapter is how much we defied expectations," so the Dominic Toretto depicter says after the screening. "As the world sees this movie, they'll see how it's the beginning of a new trilogy."
The movie is due April 14 in the States. Directed by F. Gary Gray ("Straight Outta Compton"), it sees the return of The Rock, Jason Statham, Michelle Rodriguez, Ludacris and Tyrese Gibson. Meanwhile, Charlize Theron, Helen Mirren and Scott Eastwood are among the new additions.
