That was one of the big winners at the 63rd annual Venice Film Festival, it's a big surprise. The Hollywood actor surprised many when his name was mentioned to win the Best Actor award at the ceremony, thanks to his portrayal as George Reeves in "".

It is a drama mystery thriller flick directed by Allen Coulter. As of the story, "Hollywoodland" dramatizes an investigation into the death of George Reeves, star of the 1950s TV show "Adventures of Superman." Did not attend the ceremony, Affleck however sent a message of thanks from Los Angeles via his BlackBerry, saying he was "surprised, flattered and honored".

Helen Mirren's Emmy Remark Ignited FCC Complaint

Following her comments made during the 2006 Emmy Awards live telecast on Sunday, August 27, has received complaints from the Parents Television Council (PTC). The organization claimed the actress' language to be indecent as she joked she almost fell "a** over t*t" upon stepping up to receive one of the night's Best Actress awards for her portrayal of the title role in HBO's "Elizabeth I."

What made PTC so infuriated over it was that the comments aired before 10 p.m. in the Central and Mountain time zones, when federal law prevents obscene language on over-the-air broadcasts. The organization officials consider that NBC as the network broadcasting the awards event should have censored the comments.

As the celebration of this year's Emmy Awards draws near, the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences has officially announced on Thursday, July 6 the nominees for the prime time entertainment. Choosing those for the Outstanding Lead Actor In A Comedy Series category, the organization has picked up names like , , and in the list besides placing , Peter Krause, also Denis Leary together to compete for the title of Outstanding Lead Actor In A Drama Series.

In the female's side, , , and will be up for Outstanding Lead Actress In A Comedy Series category while Allison Janney, , plus have been lined up for that in drama series. As for another in miniseries/ TV-movie category, there has popped up notable names of , , Judy Davis, , and altogether.
