AceShowbiz - After numerous backlashes over the lack of racial diversity on "The Bachelor" franchise, ABC has finally cast its first black Bachelorette. Rachel Lindsay, who is currently competing on Nick Viall's season, will reportedly be the star of the next season of "The Bachelorette".
Reality Steve first broke the news of Rachel's casting and reported that the official announcement would be made on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" tonight (Monday, February 13). The site pointed out that the series creator Mike Fleiss had been teasing about a "history-making, historic announcement" on Twitter.
This history-making, historic announcement could be the most-historic in the history of #thebachelor !!!

ABC has not responded to a request for comment.
Rachel is a 31-year-old attorney from Dallas, Texas. She landed a one-on-one date with Nick in New Orleans and is still in the running. Rachel's appointment breaks the tradition as it spoils part of the ending as to whom Nick ultimately picks.
