Jesse Helt, who accepted the Video of the Year Award on the singer's behalf back in 2014, is selling the Moonman on eBay where the bidding starts at $10,000.

AceShowbiz - Remember that guy Miley Cyrus took to the 2014 MTV Video Music Awards? At the time, the homeless dude named Jesse Helt accepted the Video of the Year Award on the former Disney darling's behalf. Now, he's selling his Moonman because he needs some money.

According to TMZ, Helt's been living pretty well now. He recently scored a studio apartment in Los Angeles and is now expecting a baby who will arrive in a few months. The site says that he's planning to use the money from the trophy for his child.

Helt is auctioning the Moonman on eBay, where the bidding starts at $10,000. For comparison, Coolio's trophy for "Gangsta's Paradise" was once sold for $6,000 and the "We Are the World" statuette was sold for $72,000.

Back in 2014, Cyrus let Helt accept the Moonman she won for her "Wrecking Ball" visuals and let him talk about homelessness in his speech. "I am accepting this award on behalf of the 1.6 million runaways and homeless youth in the United States who are starving, lost and scared for their lives right now. I know this because I am one of these people," he said back then.

"I survived in shelters all over the city. I've cleaned your hotel rooms, I've been an extra in your movies, I've been an extra in your life. Though I may have been invisible to you on the streets, I have a lot of the same dreams that brought many of you here tonight," he added.
