AceShowbiz - Katy Perry is reportedly going to release her new single next month. The "Fireworks" songstress has confirmed that a follow-up to her 2013 album "Prism" is already in the works and she plans to tour in 2017.

Mike Adam from Philadelphia radio station 96.5 AMP FM claimed Katy's lead single for her fifth studio album would be unveiled in August. He wrote on Twitter on Monday, July 4, "It looks like #KatyPerry's lead single for #KP4 will drop next month!"

When attending the Cannes Film Festival in May, Katy, who has been named the most-followed person on Twitter, revealed to Showbiz 411, "I'm working on [a new album.] I'm touring in 2017."

Her fourth studio album "Prism" spawned several hit singles including "Roar" and "Dark Horse" which peaked at No. 1 on Billboard Hot 100.
